I am going to play devil´s advocate here and say this seemed a bit hypocritically virtue signally for my liking. I mean who does he think sponsors nearly every major football tournament including the World Cup? If these corporate sponsors are sustaining your livelihood, you don´t get to take the moral high ground over their products.
Not to mention, its just Coca-Cola. How about protesting Qatar´s WC where 1000s of workers died building the stadiums? But that would mean he wouldn´t be able to play the tournament. lol
