Plastic surgery?

Maybe it's just me, but her face seems to be almost restrained when she talks or emotes. Has she ever had botox, or is this just her as she always is? Also, her lips seem unnaturally full. I'm having a hard time finding any early pictures of her to compare to.

I'm not trying to nag, she's a pretty girl, something has just always seemed "off" to me when she talks.

EDIT: I managed to answer my own question about her lips. The answer is yes.

I noticed right away when season 2 of Community premiered that she looked different... my mom also remarked on it when we were watching together. I thought maybe her nose?

She has one of those faces that looks almost completely different when you change her hairstyle or hair color or change the lighting or angle, etc. Which I think is why she gets a wide variety of actresses named as her lookalike. Her straighter hair in season 2 makes her face look wider, fuller, more angular I guess. And she has one of the most expressive faces! I don't see the restrained thing at all. Her expressions are some of the funniest on Community!

I see a lot of photos of her with minimal/without makeup, which is why I don't believe she has had any work done--she seems so down-to-earth and doesn't seem to care about looking perfect all the time.

There are photos here from her first NY play in 2006, click on the Audio Slide Show: http://theater.nytimes.com/2006/05/17/theater/reviews/17cage.html
She looks pretty much the same to me, nose and lips and all.

A link to a heavily photoshopped poster is the farthest thing from irrefutable evidence of plastic surgery.

Jacobs has the best expressions on Community. Botox would hinder those expressions. So that's a no go.

quite possible, I just noticed she's born in 1982 - four years younger then me, and she totally looks seriously older than me. To me she looks well over 35

wow cinarbenli, way to drive your *opinion* home. Insult someone you've never seen in your life.

FWIW,I think Gillian looks her age - no more and no less. She's very cute, but that's just my opinion.

She looks completely natural to me, and I always notice when an actor/actress has had work done. I find it to be such a huge turn-off. But she looks fine. Contrary to what the OP said, she has complete control over her facial expressions. I think that she's just one of these people that tend to sort of clench their jaw when they talk. Because of that, she can seem kind of stiff. But if you focus around her eyes and forehead, she looks her age.

When I first saw her I thought she might have had some work done on her nose, but I don't even think so anymore. I also have a very tiny nose like that.

Blasted internet. I have no reason to feel so compelled to comment on what you said, and yet I cannot resist.

I think you should know that what you've pointed out is precisely WHY cinarbenli said that. (S)He was just being dry.

Which is to say it was intentionally said as a joke; the sort of fly-by one that doesn't have a Neon Sign over it (though...it's not exactly a puzzle either).
