shareI agree. Absolutely stunning! I'm excited to see what's coming up for her.
shareI read you on that. Most black/white mixes tend to look dominantly black but they tend to act like it's a sin to be considered black though. They never realize it's not a form of condescension or prejudice. It's just a fact. I have a friend who is 1/4 white, 3/4 black and he always tries to bring up to anyone who refers to him as "black" that he's not all black like he thinks it's a bad thing.
Brit or American, she is a gorgeous black woman. I know she's half-white and so does most of the people who appreciate her work and her beauty. There's nothing wrong with it and those who get all mad about it should be the ones who are in the wrong by acting like it is a bad thing. There are a LOT of 100% ethnically black women who I would find just as gorgeous and sometimes even more gorgeous than this goddess of a woman (Gugu).
Plus I admire how she embraces an african name as her stage name as well. That's totally admirable and makes me adore her more. She probably is one of the most gorgeous brit women I've ever seen.
She is stunning.
shareI agree with you all see I mixed I'm Cajun/Creole/Black and Indian/ with a little Italian
shareThe African Gene is the most dominant thats a fact. It's called Melonine.
shareThe reason that someone who is multiracial gets "bored" by everyone labeling them Black, is not because there's anything wrong with being Black. There's something wrong with a boringly simple, limited blanket label that completely ignores every other ethnciicty that makes up that person.
Gugu was raised by her fully Caucasian mother in London from the age of one year old, and her father is South African yet to ignorant people she's just Black.
Tiger Woods' mother is fully Thai and his father is from the Caribbean, and he was born and raised in United States, yet to ignorant people he's just Black.
Tiger and Gugu could hardly have more extremely differing ethnic heritages from each other, and yet the blanket statement they are "Black" lumps them in as if they are one and the same.
Is it really that hard to see how someone bi or multiracial could be a bit peaved with a label that fully ignores the existence and influence of their own mothers?
