Why did they change their team name?

I don't see anything wrong with the Indians, I really don't like the name change at all.

The name "Indians" by itself wasn't offensive; there are many teams named after various human groups such as the Boston Celtics or the Minnesota Vikings. The problem was the derogatory usage of Native American culture. The "Chief Wahoo" mascot, fans donning feathered headwear and face paint, and similar issues are what led to the name change.

Same reason the Redskins did. Somebody, probably white, decided to take it upon themselves speak up for Native Americans and tell people how offensive this is. Even when most Native Americans say they didn't find it offensive.
