A real human being, and a real hero.

When I saw her in Another Earth, I felt so different afterwards. I started watching her interviews with Mike and Zal, loved their connection and really respected their bodies of work together. Then Sound of my Voice made me wonder why she wasn't the biggest name in Hollywood. She's writing/co-writing, acting and producing films with her best friends and seemingly only taking projects that represent her in a similar light or are close to her heart in some way. She's the kind of actress/role model that women should be aspiring to and looking up to. When my husband and I saw The East, we were so blown away we started calling people to make sure they had seen it. If her and the guys ever started up a kickstarter campaign for any future projects, I know I would give anything I could to make it happen. She's really inspiring, and I hope to see a cult following soon.. (not literally, that would be scary).

I really enjoy her work and even if what she's working on doesn't always sound like my cup of tea, I give it a shot because she manages to surprise me constantly.

I was resistant to Another Earth even though I'd seen everything else she'd done- but then, in a moment of boredom I went for it and-- Blammo. Loved it.
