I Attended Andy Samburg's High School When He Was A Junior And Senior!!!
In case any of you don't know Berkeley High School, it is the premier high school in Berkeley, California. Most people obviously know Berkeley as being an ultra-liberal city although I find it to be more inclusive of different points of view than others might think. I lived here most of my life so I can tell you that out of being a resident and getting to know a number of people of different diversities and character.
A few years ago, I found out that Andy Samberg graduated from Berkeley High, just like I did. I also discovered that Samberg was a couple of grades ahead of me. In 1996, Samberg was a senior and I was a sophomore. Interestingly enough, a person I dated in San Francisco (she lived in Sunnyvale) said she was close friends with a girl in my graduating class of 1998 and mentioned she (the person in my graduating class) knew Samberg from a few friends. As I got thinking, I believe it was possible I might have seen Samberg walking through the campus of Berkeley High during our high school years but it was such a long time ago and I don't remember much (and I'm really good at visual memory for the most part).
One of the things Andy Samberg will probably confirm with you was that during our years in high school, we had two principals. The first one was pretty good up until the end of spring of 1995 (when his tenure was over). The next principal, Mr. Lee, was one who was not popular at all amongst students in his new role. He was a regular math teacher who taught both Geometry and AP Geometry. My close friend had a class with him. I'm pretty sure Andy Samberg had Geometry with Mr. Lee but I'm not sure about this as I'm only speculating.
Also, Samberg and I went to Berkeley High before it went through the serious enhancements in buildings that happened a few years after I graduated in 1998. We both went to the same gym in the "M" building, which was a run down, seriously crusty and old gymnasium that looked like it came out of the inner city gym from the first Rocky film. Our school also had no cafeteria in our years (there is one now) but Samberg likely went off campus to a restaurant to get food as all students were able to do so.
Anyway, I never got to meet Andy but it would be really cool if I did. It's said he does view IMDB so if he does, he might want to check out the thread I just started. I'd be happy to add him to my Facebook list :)
