I don't understand the hype with this guy

I read he couldn't do movies for some reason and blah blah blah then he was able to and he started in District 9 which was a great movie.

I originally thought he was not a real actor in the movie, didn't know him never heard of him.

Every movie he's in after that one basically sucked along with his "okay" acting.

However I remember ALL this hype over him. Anyone know why?

Copley is a great actor. See him in Elysium as a real sociopathic government killer who goes rogue.

He's great in District 9 too. I hear his new film The Hollars is a comedy. Love to see him try his hand as a non -psycho.
If you ever see him on a talk show, you'll see he's also super smart.
Don't write this guy off so quickly. He's got real talent.
