I know this sounds horrible but having her child has taken its toll on her looks. She looks a lot older and has lost her youthful look.

I am a big fan and she's a wonderful actress but this is Hollywood. You need talent and eternal youth to keep getting work as an actress. I know it's shallow and sad but film is a visual media after all.

I daresay that she will be getting a lot less major roles from now on.

I'm sure she's a lovely person and will be a great mother but sadly we'll be seeing a lot less of her. Hollywood will replace her with some 20 year old goddess with half the acting talent.

I always thought she was cute, and doll-like, and looked cute in The Duchess, and The Great Gatsby, but OMG she looked terrible in this interview. She seems to have gone from looking 25 to looking 40 overnight... Andshe is only 31. And she has gone hard looking and frumpy too.

Not sure I agree about eternal youth. If looks was the main thing an actress got, then aging could do a lot of damage for the career, sure. But talent is more important, there are roles for older women, and there are great actresses who managed to age gracefully and still get great roles, Cate Blanchett, Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Jullianne Moore - just to name a few most famous ones.

I agree with most of what the OP said. She hasn't aged well at all and she looks really awful now.

British thing. Kiera Knightly and Emily Blunt were hot when they were in their early 20s, but by the time they hit the big 30, they had morphed into British plain janes.

Agree. And I would put Keeley Hawes in there too, (looks 7-8 years older than she is!) She is 40 now, but was only 38 here!

And also Katherine Parkinson from 'the i.t. crowd;' looks 7-8 years older than she is. (She is 38.)

Even in their prime, I wouldn't categorize most top actresses as being exceptionally beautiful. But I think Carey Mulligan is. I often wondered how it would affect her shelf life.
