Since watching Clive Standen these past two years on Vikings it seemed obvious that he would be the perfect James Bond. I'm surprised he hasn't been in major films yet. He's excellent in all his roles, and physically perfect for Bond.
My favorite Vikings episode with Clive was the "I'll be Christian" episode. He was hilarious during his baptism scene!

shareI understand Daniel Craig is finished as Bond, and I'm glad. He was never right for the role, though we all recognize he is an outstanding actor. Clive Standen is at his peak right now, the perfect age, perfect look, attitude. Of course the Bond producers will likely pick the wrong person... again. They done it many times before, haven't they?

Apparently Henry Cavill is now in the running. Obviously he'd be very good, but I'm not sure he has the "animal magnetism" of Clive Standen. Pierce Brosnan never convinced me as Bond. My vote remains for Clive Standen!

I came into this forum to post this very same thread. Now I see somebody beat me to it.
Standen has been at the top of my Bond wish list for several years now. Nobody I can think of is as close to perfect for the role as he is.
I totally agree with the poster calling Connery the Perfect Bond. But Standen has the stature, the looks, and the edge that is closest to Connery and stands to really come close to his popularity as Bond.
