Should have been Sokka in Last Airbender

Ive seen S1 ans 2 of misfits ages ago and recently watched most of the Avatar animated series and honestly believe this guy would have been perfect to play Sokka being the quirky funny , over expressive kinda guy Sokka is.

AGREED! He captures the sarcasm, charisma and lovable obnoxiousness perfectly!

"Mozenrath" from Aladdin would be a great fit.

Thank goodness he wasn't, considering Sokka wasn't Sokka in TLA lol.

reply

The main problem here is that Robert is white, Sokka isn't. So... no.

Did you mean to reply to the OP?

I already have loads of issues with how that cast went down, and the story and directing and everything, but I think the OP meant since a white guy was already cast to play Sokka it might as well have been Robert, so I don't really get the condescension...

reply

The OP probably didn't know Robert was "White". I know plenty of people who think he's mixed or Middle Eastern.

reply

I know, there are like 5 threads on it on this page. It's gotten a little obsessive I have to say.

A middle eastern person also wouldn't be close to the more inuit Sokka and the water tribe are based on. I don't think non-white should just be blobbed together casting wise, or in general consideration.

Sorry for sounding condescending. I typed this in a rush. I meant to say no white guy should play Sokka - even the best white actor is still not suitable for the role. Robert is talented but it's not a role for him. If nothing else, I am happy he wasn't part of a whitewashing mess (and overall mess) that movie was.
