Irish/British film or Hollywood films

Which one would you rather see him stick with?

reply

I'd rather see him do a mixture. I just don't want to see him take on mindless Hollywood material. It would also be nice seeing him on our big screens for once :). But I wouldn't mind it if he chooses to stick to only Uk and Ireland films.

A mixture is good...as for the hollywood material...as long as it´s really good material I don´t see a problem
I tend to think when it comes to certain genres..like drama...UK & Ireland does it best...great example is BBC who usually produces great drama.
Accused is a great example btw :)

Personally, I like Irish (and British) cinematography and I would like to see him in a serious project of this kind. On the other hand, I don't hate American movies per se, so if it's a good project, why not. But he's still not famous enough or good enough to get cast in a serious American project so he has to stick with stuff like TMI in Hollywood.

So, Ireland/UK wins, at least for now.

I loooove that he's doing local Irish work like Love/Hate and mixing it up with big Hollywood attempts. The variety must be really exciting for him.

It seems like he's a restless artist/actor type and I would love to see him just be able to get as much great work as possible across the pond or not.

I just hope he makes more good films, wherever that is. I guess being in Hollywood has its perks, namely he gets more exposure and maybe more selection. But I hope he doesn't get stuck just in Hollywood, because some of the best films/shows I've seen this past year are from the UK. (though a small part of me for some reason likes the idea of sticking to the UK just because I think that the focus is more on quality than who you know/how you look, then again what do I know).

I agree i-kachelm. I wish he stayed in love/hate. Gonna miss him :(

For purely selfish reasons, I hope he does both. I would never get to see his work till much later if he only did British/Irish work. I am just now seeing Misfits and Love/Hate and it has been a few years.I do agree that the caliber of work is better than Hollywood. Even though I am from here, I can recognize many things are made for the sole purpose of making money and not exploring or being cerebral. Also, I have to say there is more respect for the theatre other places too. Anyway, that was a long way of saying I hope he stays diverse and keeps all windows and doors open for his career.
