Does he drink alcohol?
Just wondering....I've heard he parties a lot.
Considering he got drunk on tinychat and got flashed by an army of fangirls, I would say... yes. Thank God he didn't end up as Peeta.

On the contrary, Alexander Ludwig should have been Peeta. He actually has the look to pull it off. People can separate an actor's personal life from their professional life. It doesn't mean that the person isn't a great actor or can't be professional on a movie set.
Perfect examples of this are Leonardo Dicaprio and Tobey Maguire, both outstanding actors who were well known for partying when their careers started. Johnny Depp was known to abuse drugs and alcohol, but he has an excellent body of work. I don't advocate drug/alcohol abuse, but I won't dismiss an actor because he made a poor choice during a chat. And I am not saying that Ludwig is the same caliber of actor as those two; he has a ways to go like most young actors.
Everyone is welcome to their opinions, but in my humble opinion, Josh Hutcherson was an awful choice as Peeta.
Until he tinychats with a ton of underage half naked girls while drunk and the press gets wind of it.
Because bad press is awesome for promoting movies (I'm actually not sure if I'm serious or not. :S)

Evanrose, other than the Hunger Games message board and your post about Alexander, I haven't heard any bad press about Alexander Ludwig and the chat he did. If he became drunk, then he exercised bad judgment, but that incident alone would not harm any actor (including Josh Hutherson) cast as Peeta or cause negative press for the Hunger Games.
It is the responsibility of the parents of those half naked girls to monitor their daughters' computer activities and how they dress. By the way, the movie Titanic had tons of bad press before it was released, and it did quite well at the box office and won Best Picture. Lindsey Lohan gets a ton of bad press for her far worse antics, but most of her movies are subpar anyway, and don't do well as a result.
Every movie is different, but the success or failure of The Hunger Games will depend on how believable the cast is in their roles. I happen to think that the producers miscast 80% of the movie, but you never know.
It's because he isn't a very important character in the grand scheme of the series. If JLaw or Josh did that, there would be media coverage of it.

I was actually really happy that they chose Josh Hutcherson instead of Alexander Ludwig. Josh is IMO the better actor out of the two. He also has a more innocent/pure edge to his personality/appearance. He just appears to seem more genuine to me than Alex. At first, I was hesitant about Alex being Cato, but now that I'm seeing his more recent pictures, I guess he can look quite intimidating.
Also, I find Josh has more charisma in his interviews than Alex.
Even Lucas Till seems to fit as Peeta more than Alex, so my top choices wouldn't be Alex.
While Josh has more experience than Mr. Ludwig, I don't believe that makes him a better actor. With the exception of "Bridge to Terebithia", I think Josh is a terrible actor. I just believe that Alexander has the boyish, handsome look the role of Peeta requires. Even with less experience, nothing would have been wrong with giving him a chance to play the role.
I haven't seen Alex in too many interviews (he comes across as pretty funny), but I wouldn't base an interview on how well an actor performs in a movie. I am confident Alexander can pull off the role of Cato, and the fact that he was one of the final three choices to play Peeta proves he can act. I agree that Lucas Till and the little mentioned Jeremy Sumpter both would have fit the role of Peeta, just not as well as Alexander.

So looks matter more to you than experience when it comes to acting? Lol, only kidding... it just sounds like you're implying this a little.
Alexander WAS given a chance and you even acknowledge it by showing you know he originally auditioned for the role of Peeta. They chose Josh probably because Josh embodied the role best of the final three! Clearly Josh had something special about him and his portrayal that made them forgive any physical discrepancies and cast him for the role. Even the author herself felt he was the one.

I agree, performance and real life personality should be kept separate. Alexander comes across as a frat boy in interviews, albeit much kinder than the stereotypical image of a frat boy. He is quite charismatic as well!

To be fair, you don't know how well Alexander fit the role of Peeta beyond his physical description (actually, Alexander is too tall for Peeta) and your opinion about his acting skills.
He nailed Cato. Doesn't mean he was best for Peeta. They are two different roles.
