I just tried watching that film, had to turn it off after around 20-30 mins, it was just plain terrible. I couldn't believe Eddie Redmayne was the same person who had just won an Oscar - what an awful role!

So true. They had beautiful effects, but no chemistry between the actors OR villains.

Too much glamour, not enough substance.

um - as i understand the story, that voice is the result from caines attack against his (balems) throat (caine + stinger speak about that attack, when they talk about caines lost wings); you remember, that balem´s neck is always encased by a rigid kind of collar, which makes his attitude very rigid, too? same cause.
