Keaton Should've won, plain and simple.

I don't know who rigged the academy awards, but they did the wrong thing. Birdman was art and entertainment to the fullest. Keaton perfectly embodied what we all feel in searching for that thing in life that defines us, that elevates us, as far as purpose, craft and desire. Shame on the academy for failing to recognize a truly life defining performance.

You people make me laugh with your attempts to try and badmouth Eddie's genius portrayal of Stephen Hawking. People like you who try to undermine Eddie's talents in order to talk up Michael Keaton are just lame and desperate.Get over it! In order to portray the ALS affected Stephen Hawking accurately,Eddie had to be in physical pain because of the unnatural way he had to contort his body. Not only were the physical aspects of his role spot on,but also the emotional aspects.Eddie has an extremely expressive face and can convey his emotions, with little or no words. Let's see Michael Keaton do that lol! He doesn't have the skill of Eddie Redmayne,so sorry love.😘😘

Any senile old man in a nursing home could've played Keaton's part.

Nope, sorry it's not plain and simple. Your argument for Keaton is pretty damn weak, seems like more of an argument for Birdman than for Keaton's performance. Well I'll agree with you that Birdman was the superior film, the better movie doesn't always contain the better acting performance. This is the case with Birdman and The Theory of Everything. Michael Keaton was good, but he's got nothing on the incredible amount of expertise and brilliance that went into Redmayne's performance as Stephen Hawking.

I'm really surprised by how all the Redmayne haters can't see how incredibly challenging and impressive it would've been for him to successfully simulate the effects of ALS, few actors have given performances like that (My Left Foot comes to mind) it was a well earned victory, none of the other nominees were even close. Though I believe tToE was a pretty mediocre movie, Redmayne's performance was nothing short of outstanding.

Go complaing to Keaton's fórum and leave us alone! What is worng with people? They come here to insult, instead of being polite and good "losers". You have taken this too seriously, and I still think that Keaton played himself, which can be hardly be described as a performance.

Correct. This is how the vast majority of people feel in hindsight. 30 years from now, people won't even remember that some guy named Eddie won an Oscar

"people won't even remember that some guy named Eddie won an Oscar".

Not at all. Just because you say so, it doesn't make it true.
