Nope, sorry it's not plain and simple. Your argument for Keaton is pretty damn weak, seems like more of an argument for Birdman than for Keaton's performance. Well I'll agree with you that Birdman was the superior film, the better movie doesn't always contain the better acting performance. This is the case with Birdman and The Theory of Everything. Michael Keaton was good, but he's got nothing on the incredible amount of expertise and brilliance that went into Redmayne's performance as Stephen Hawking.
I'm really surprised by how all the Redmayne haters can't see how incredibly challenging and impressive it would've been for him to successfully simulate the effects of ALS, few actors have given performances like that (My Left Foot comes to mind) it was a well earned victory, none of the other nominees were even close. Though I believe tToE was a pretty mediocre movie, Redmayne's performance was nothing short of outstanding.
