Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: A Mostly Forgettable Spinoff

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” contains some amusing characters and outstanding special effects, but thanks to a scarce plotline that’s a little lacking in substance, it becomes a mostly forgettable return to the wizarding world.

It was hardly forgettable. Adventurous rollercoaster throughout, IMO.

It was amazing. Definetely not forgettable.

The movie was good but it was just so... different. Its structure is completely different to other movies and most people dislike it. Yeah, the story is kinda weak but the ideas, effects and acting makes up for it.

Also, it's incredible how little it relies on Harry Potter. It can stand on its own and this is something that almost no studio tries or risks. There are only a few references to Hogwarts and Dumbledore and that's it. Most spin-offs almost explode because of their references to the previous movies. "OH HEY YOU REMEMBER THIS? OR THIS? OR THAT? WOAH, EPIC REFERENCE TO PREVIOUS MOVIE HERE" and such. This one barely does any. Quite impressive.
