His Stephen Hawking was way too zany.
The easy oscar win... play a handicapped person. When will the oscars outgrow this gag?

shareWhat I don't like they should get a person that's is disabled to play the part
shareIt's not a 'gag.' It's called 'acting.' He did it brilliantly.
shareIts not "easy". What's easy is to not physically transform in a role. *cough* Michael Keaton *cough*
shareIn real life a lot of disabled people get swept aside though. I'm part of the LGBT community and it's weird how many of them are nasty and intolerant even though they preach the opposite.
shareNo one even brought up Michael Keaton you baby.
shareIt is gag for Oscar bait though. That was the whole joke in TropicThunder. Which was hilarious. Acting mentally or physically disabled is no more impressive than pulling off an incredibly believable performance as a person with no disability but confronting extraordinary circumstances or an incredible comedic role. That's called "acting" too...
shareRemember when Ricky Gervais's Extras had Kate Winslet joking that all you had to do was make a holocaust movie and you're guaranteed an Oscar. And then it came true for her and Ricky Gervais reminded people at one of the awards ceremonies of this.
shareand you make them walk initially before they get disabled with CGI? i dont see that happening
