Relieved?

I read she was pretty upset in 2016 as she never thought Donald would pull it off (but I don't see how shed be upset ..what woman wouldn't wanna be first lady?)

But now maybe she abit relieved she doesn't have to do it anymore being humiliated/criticized on a near daily basis, having to go everywhere and being paraded out like a trophy etc idk (also if it is true about wanting divorce now it can go ahead )

Probably. Scrutiny and criticism isn’t easy for anyone. At the end of the day though she didn’t marry Donald Trump because she yearned for an anonymous life. I think people have been relatively ambivalent about Mel actually. Maybe her gardening and Christmas decorations and hashtag ventures (#be best) have been ripe for satire but when you consider how viciously others are trolled I think it could have been worse. I don’t remember anyone suggesting she is trans, for example. And she would be able to handle being seen as a trophy wife, I’d guess she encountered the suggestion way before becoming flouts. She got her money and some nice clothes and is now a historical figure. She’ll be fine.

The media treated her unfairly. I really felt bad for her. She seems like a very sweet woman.

Again, I would say the media went relatively easy on her when you consider the potential to rip on someone who went from foreign glamour model to the First Lady of a country where her husband had such questionable views on immigration himself. I always got the feeling that she was seen as a way too easy target. If anything the overriding impression I got was that the media and the general public felt a bit sorry for her. There seems to be little discernible affection between her and her husband, which is a shame for anyone.
