Related to Boy George?

I have often wondered if Chris is related to Boy George (aka George Alan
O'Dowd). They are both British and do have some facial similarities.

I can't say that I've ever seen enough of Boy George without his being so very made up to the point of being virtually unrecognizable! I guess on thinking about it, his teeth structure is similar, it I haven't seen enough of the rest of him to know if his facial structure is similar to Chris O'Dowd.

Reminds me of a story a friend of mine told me once. He was just crazy hot for this perfect 10 of a girl that be knew and he finally got the nerve to ask her out. She said yes and he was so excited to take her out he showed up 20 minutes early.

A girl answered the door and my friend asked for his date and she laughed because "he was just so funny--acting like he didn't recognize her with her hair not fixed and her makeup not on!!"

Only it wasn't a joke. He really didn't know it was her and he was so bummed he was depressed for weeks because his Perfect 10 was just butt ugly without a pound of cosmetics to cover her up!!

First off, O'Dowd is Irish...but funny enough Boy George is an English born Irishman - so maybe?
if you google it there does seem to be some credibility to the theory.

An update from my post of a year ago:

Chris was interviewed in the latest issue of The Advocate. Part of the interview
is as follows:

Interviewer: You also starred as man investigating his lineage in the HBO
series "Family Tree." Any gay branches in your tree?

Chris O'Dowd: I may be related to George O'Dowd, better known as Boy George.
I found out that my great-grandfather was a bigamist, and it loooks like he had
a second family in Birmingham, England, where George's family is from. I
mentioned it to him once and he loved the idea that we might be cousins.

So, evidently, Chris has met Boy George on at least one occasion, and broached
the subject with him.
