shareActually, "actress" is becoming an outdated word in the film industry, just like "bartendress" is no longer used for female bartenders. Professionals are using "actor" to describe those who act and steering away from sexist-type words. But IMDb still uses it...so I think a person can use them interchangeably at this point.
As of your angry post, Avril Lavigne has three acting credits to her name. Many actors have cross-over skills (e.g. Jennifer Lopez). Whether they're good at it or not, is a whole different topic. ;P
