Someone ask Woody Allen when he's going to star a black actor in one of his films.

He'll never do it, of course, I just want to hear how he phrases his response.

I think he answered that years ago.

But Lee Daniels would never ask him b/c he hates when white writers write roles for black actors.

Didn't people stop caring about Woody Alien long ago. And even if there are not any black people in his movies. I don't think Woody Allen would be stupid enough to say. "I don't want Black people in my movies." Even tho Taylor Perry makes movies with almost all black leads. I don't think hes stupid enough to say what Peele said. And at least Taylor Perry movies are not just remakes of old horror movie with some boring race twist. Jorden Peele is like M Night Shyamalan. If M Night Shyamalan made all his movies about his skin color.

I never had much use for Horror films in the first place. Peele's previous effort sounded like a comedy, but I suppose you can get your actors to play it straight, which I imagine gave it some sort of meta effect. But that he's plying the same water makes me wonder if he has anything else to say. Either that, or he's going to break ground and have a not-ironic mega hit with a cast of Black Actors. I will admit that I don't see movies where Black Actors are more than victims or 2nd bananas.

One movie I like to point out as ground-breaking is the original Night Of the Living Dead. In unlikely fashion, one of the lead actors was a Negro gentleman. He was at least as competent as the other characters, but his fate was the same.
bUT I don't think any of the zombies were black. Still a bit of PC racism there ,,, heh heh HAHAHA.

reply

I'm sure if the zombies were black as well, someone now would say that that proves black people are always the first to die in horror films, or some other nonsense.
