Wow, just watching it now. It came out 7 years after The Room and Tommy looks like he's on some serious Heroin. I'm not even joking. The scene of him in the house talking to his friend. He can barely keep his eyes open and sounds like his speech is very slurred and slowed down. Either Heroin, or some other opiate, or cat tranquilizer. He's majorly out of it.

shareGreg talked about this in his book. He said that there is a time of day where Tommy's brain just shuts down completely, and he has trouble talking and doing pretty much anything. Kind of like that feeling where after you've been awake too long, and your brain makes it seem like everything is slower.
