I mean, we can't say it flopped when it only played in like 6 theaters. Not really fair. I still can't find where to watch it and it's supposedly been out for months.
Hopefully, he'll do just fine. He's got a lot of talent and creativity, just judging from It Follows and some of his earlier no-budget work.
I'm surprised they didn't "Epstein" his ass just for making UTSL. Dead directors tell no tales. That's one of those movies that makes you ask, "How in the hell did this get made?". You have to imagine that someone, somewhere, watches it and is too stupid pick up on any of the undertones or subliminal things, and gives it the green light as a common noir/mystery.
