She would have to either be in flashbacks or be a guiding spirit like Dexter's dad.

I love the guiding spirit/conscience idea. Either protecting him like Harry or constantly trying to sobatage/make him turn himself in.

They can have them both appear and argue over what is the best choice for Dexter to make, lol. Wouldn't that be hilarious?

They could pull it off in a more serious way. And I personally would love that. But yes, that whole good and bad comedy act is hilarious!
