Destroyed All Interest In F1 For Me...

Probably no bad thing as, even by that point, it was becoming boring.

But I'll never forget how this guy showed the "sport" up for the circus it really is.

Winning the first race of the season (can't even remember the year now - late 90s maybe? Earlier 00s?) in Australia he had been leading most of the race and was heading for certain victory. But then he slammed his breaks on in the home straight and let Mika Häkkinen - who had been miles behind - shoot past him and take the win!

It was a totally shocking, wtf moment. It later transpired the team had an agreement that whomever got the first corner ahead, would later on let the other driver win!

It wasn't even like this was late on in the season and one of them needed the points for the championship. It was the very first race!!

Anyway, never watched it again. Thanks Mr Coulthard for saving me many a boring Sunday afternoon 😂...
