Isn't he nearly 6 feet tall, though? The other actors who played hobbits in the Lord of the Rings series were average height to short, it seemed to me, so when they stood together they could be more easily shrunk down by the magic of cinema. Anybody who stars with him who would be a hobbit would also have to be close to him in height, I'd imagine, so they could be shrunk down equally, or else a lot of extra resizing would have to be done in scenes with them together.

I think he'd do a great job. And he could easily be made to look like Ian Holm, 80 years earlier.
