I've checked his starmetre and found that he hasn't fallen below 200 since november last year.Does this mean that he is becoming one of the popular actors now? Besides, anyone got news of the movie Icon? Is he in the movie? I saw the poster somewhere but without his name in it.

It looks like an independent and it was filmed a long time ago. I don't know if they had financial or legal problems. I guess we'll see if it's any good later this year.
shareThis seems like a serious movie, like the "boring" kind of movie that's not for everyone. I can imagine this movie has lots and lots of dialogue and counter strategies from all sides involved. Bill's sorta like the bad guy (i guess??) but I suppose he'd be a strategist too. And I can't shake off the image of Joe Macmillan when I read Bill Stapleton's wikipedia...

I doubt it will be boring. The story of how that lying narcissist Lance Armstrong defrauded the world is fascinating. There are some excellent documentaries about it and the story will make a compelling film. I hope the movie is not sympathetic to him--although I doubt Frears is going to go easy on him. Armstrong deserved to go down, as did those who stood by or encouraged him. He destroyed so many people in the process, all to feed his insatiable ego. I think if handled well, this film will get lots of buzz and recognition.
shareI agree llm17 - The director makes intriguing films and the story is a natural for him. He has an amazing cast and the movie, if done right, should get a great deal of attention for all involved. I think the delays in the release were based on Armstrong's continuing litigation and I'm sure the film will be a winner.

It's funny to see Lee as top credited actor in the cast list followed by Ben Foster as Armstrong. Who do you think Dustin Hoffman will play? His character is still unconfirmed.
I found this link about the film - Hoffman apparently has a small role in the movie. The link also provides possible reasons as to why they waited to release this film. Apparently there were other Armstrong projects planned. I think the producers waited to see if they came to fruition.
