Poor guy

I just heard that he died. His weight problem probably had something to do with it. 45 years old is way too young to die. I hope his two children are taking it well; I feel so bad for them. Will it be his ex wife, their mother, that will be taking care of them now? More than likely I would think.

Damn, just came here to comment on something totally unrelated and saw a pic of the very hilarious Ralphie May. I hadn't heard anything from him in a while and decided to find out what he had going on. I literally gasped at the news of his passing. His comedy and funny spirit will live on.

Just saw him for the first time in years on a recent episode of Penn and Teller's Fool Us and I was amazed at the level of extreme obesity he still displayed. He obviously achieved a measure of success and it makes one wonder why he didn't seek help with that problem. He even mentioned his children on that show.

I am a huge "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" fan and have watched every episode when they originally aired and still continue to watch episodes. I am also a fan of Ralphie May and when I saw him on "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" I immediately recognized him and said to myself, "Hey that is the guy from the first season of 'Last Comic Standing'" of which I am a huge fan of that television show also. I was excited to see him on television again. I read somewhere that his weight at his heaviest was at around 800 pounds when he was much younger. He did end up getting the gastric bypass surgery which helped him to lose about 400 pounds. I did recognize his weight on "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" and made the commit to myself that he could stand to lose weight for health reasons. I did not know that eleven days after the airing of the episode of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" he would pass away. RIP Ralphie May. Hope to see you when I get to heaven. You made people laugh with your comedy career. You will be missed.

Oh no, that is so sad! I just discovered this guy's comedy on youtube last year. He was hilarious. He made me laugh so hard that I cried.

I first heard his name mentioned by John Pinette, another very funny guy who died too young. What is going on? These guys had everything to live for, but I think their weight problems contributed to their early deaths.

R.I.P. Ralphie, thanks for all the laughs!!!
