Is she leaving Elementary?

I don't like the way they are going with her character. She was doing such a good job helping Sherlock while Joan was busy elsewhere. I think this is a mistake by the writers. It's similar to what happened to Irene in the first season.

I hope she will turn up in another series or come back to this one as a series regular maybe next year. I love her voice and she is very beautiful. And she can act. I know some people who post on the Elementary forums were a bit butt hurt about her taking time from the other characters they knew and loved but other than a bit to little of Watson I was fine with her whole run on the show. I think the 3 of them made a good team and it would definitely work out if they came back to it permanently IMO.

At first I wasn't sure I'd enjoy her character, but now I'm going to miss her so much! I hope she finds a way to come back to the show.

I am saddened by the exit of Kitty(Ophelia Lovibond). I wasn't sure about her character in the beginning, I think because I was upset that Joan had gotten her own apartment. However, after a few episodes I really liked the character and enjoyed watching the steel armour falling away as she became more confident and trusting of those in Sherlock's life.

I am going to miss Kitty a lot and I hope the idiotic writers that removed her will see the error of their ways and bring her back.

I agree. It was a pleasure to have Ophelia on the show. She's only a year and half older than me. Some said she was annoying, but, for me, it was a one-time thing that I got over. According to Arthur Conan Doyle's books, supposedly, her arrest is the last I believe we read of her. That hasn't been done in this series yet since Kitty ran off to England before she could be identified. If the writers for this modern day American adaptation of the books want to stay consistent, they could bring her back only to be discovered by Gregson and he has to arrest her. Who knows when that will happen but likely it won't be this season according to the summaries of the next two episodes finishing the season.

Don't you people understand how American film works? Lucy Liu is the biggest star on the show, she needed time off for her other projects. She could only be there for short periods to work on the show so the writers had to work around it. Ophelia was just there to fill in time on the show while Lucy Liu was busy. Once Lucy was done they got rid of Ophelia. The only way she comes back on the show is if they need her to fill in time. It won't be because of her "acting skills" (while barely exist).
