7 years younger than his wife?

I just was looking at the year Elsa Pataky was born (July 18th, 1976) and Chris Hemsworth (August 11th, 1983) but you would never guess! He looks older than she is. It's not that big of an age gap, though, and I guess if you're within 10 years of each other you tend to not notice much of a difference anyway (especially once you're both adults), but it is really interesting. They are a beautiful couple and their kids are adorable, too. :D But it is kind of funny to think that when she was 17, he was only 10. O_o

It helps that she looks younger than her age, but I guess some people find it jarring because society says the man has to be the older one in the relationship.

Ms. Bay Ridge.. Methinks you need to get out of Bay Ridge!

Gee.. if it was reversed (she being the younger) no one would bat an eye. Hypocrisy...

Elsa Pataky is georgeous, and Mr Hemsworth is a very lucky chap, as I'm sure he would testify!

But it is kind of funny to think that when she was 17, he was only 10.And when she'll be 80, he'll be 73. Time evens that out.

Considering men tend to mature years later than women, they also die younger than women on average and most societies around the world tend to place value on the man being stable and established as to have the ability to support a pregnant wife and family, I can see why society says the man has to be the older one in the relationship.

You clearly don't know what hypocrisy means since no one actually was batting any eyelids and they were just discussing an exception to a social norm, that is not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is giving out what you don't like to receive, not noticing when someone goes against the grain.
