Sienna to play Tippi Hedren

Sienna Miller is to star in a harrowing new drama about film director Alfred Hitchcocks obsession with Tippi Hedren star of his classic The Birds and how it destroyed both their careers.

The Girl, to be screened next year, will show how an infatuated 62-year-old Hitchcock sexually harassed the 31-year-old blonde starlet and tried to control every aspect of her life both on and off screen.

Tippi suffered in silence for the best part of three years but eventually walked out when her mentor made it clear her future career depended on giving in to his sexual demands.

Not sure that Miller is the right choice for this role.

I actually think the casting could work out well. I dont generally judge things things like that until I at least see a trailer. To be honest Tippie is quite lucky that Sienna is playing her. Tippie is great but (although she was an "It" girl for a short while) she was never an A-list Hollywood star like Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn. She only had one hit movie. Although I do like 'Marnie'.

This is going to be a made for tv movie. So the fact that they have a name like Sienna Miller attached to play the lead will pull in far larger viewing figures than it would have otherwise if they had cast one of the usual tv movie girls like Jeniffer Love Hewitt. And Sienna is a quite capable actress. Even though 'Factory Girl' didnt do that well the one constant was that Sienna did get rave reviews for acting. Also with the right makeup and hair I think she will pass well as a young Tippie.

I think she will, she did a fantastic job emulating Edie Sedgwick.

saw a picture of her in the role,looks amazing and captures the period perfectly
