Been a fan for years...
and I kind of long for the days when he wasn't so well-known. Tom is such an unbelievably kind, selfless, humble and self-deprecatory person, that all this complete and utter B.S. surrounding him lately is seriously maddening. Anyone who watched his Golden Globes speech and took away anything self-aggrandizing or self-promoting or 'white savior' (what the absolute *beep* is that???) can only be reflecting their own bitterness and hatred. This world has become so obsessed with raging against hatred, bitterness, racism, bigotry, prejudice, homophobia, etc. that they don't even realize their own lives are being utterly consumed with the very attributes they claim to be fighting against. Simply put, Tom doesn't deserve the hate he's receiving and anyone who knows ANYTHING about him would know that. And he apologized for what he said, even though he said nothing wrong, but I'm guessing people will criticize him for that, too. I seriously wish haters would just chill out and hug a puppy or better yet, here's a thought, focus on your own life and try to figure out how you could live a better life and make the world a better place instead of whinging and complaining about how everyone else in the world is the problem and if only this person or that person was different then things would change. Heaven forbid someone who won an award for HIS acting and HIS own work should mention himself in his own god-damn acceptance speech.
Whatever. In the words of the well-respected Professor Farnsworth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaY9k6tuLog
And Tom, if you happen to read this by some strange happenstance, I want you to know that there is no one in the world I wouldn't rather be like than you. Don't Change!
(Also, you were amazing in the Night Manager, as was Hugh and Olivia. Congrats to you all!)
~...can you tell me, yeah, as a mate... is the bottom half of me on fire?
