Is he attractive?

I don't get it. His eyes are too close together, small mouth, pointy horsy face, no superb talent, no charisma... I don't get why people think he's great...

reply

It's in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

reply

I, for one, find that I am attracted to intelligence and personality before looks. He's also very kind. That's what does it for me.

reply

You and me both! I have always found brains more attractive than brawn. I think that's true of many women and I dare say that I think it's part of our evolution! Brains are much more useful in our world now, as brawn used to be more important. More attractive women are choosing intelligent mates and it will vastly improve the future of humanity.

reply

Yay for big brains! Seriously, though, I'm thinking back to all my celebrity crushes or "character" crushes since junior high, and there's definitely a common thread: smart, usually tall, funny/snarky, nerdy.
David Duchovny/Mulder, Logan from Veronica Mars, Ed Norton, Ryan Gosling, Nathan Fillion, Zachary Levi, Cillian Murphy (not tall, but damn smart)...and then Tom, or course.

reply

My guess is that because he is a celebrity and he's got an apporachable "boy next door" look, he gets hyped up by fan girls who think they've got a shot with him. And the hype fools these girls into thinking he is attractive, while they are in fact just in love with the hype.

You saw the same thing happen with Robert Pattions a few years ago. Ugly as hell, but hyped up to be some kind of Greek god because he was in a very popular teen movie.

reply

Then again, you like JarJar...  Pretty sure that cuts some serious points off of the validity of any opinion you might have before, now, or in the future.

I HAVE OPINIONS 🐐

reply

Everybody's different, it has nothing to do with being a celebrity...I thought Tom was hot before I even knew his name or that he had a legion of fans who felt the same way (I saw him in Thor and was hooked, I hardly even noticed Chris Hemsworth in that film I was too busy gawking at 'Loki', lol)

Their is no universal 'type' that will appeal to every girl or guy, peoples tastes differ.

reply

What has to do a real person with a character on a movie?

Why liking a character in a movie invalidate an opinion?
