Message Board is going away

I'm sad to see it go too. There are no other discussion board like these anywhere that i can find. And its not possible to have discussions like these on any social media sites. I really hope they change their minds because these boards make imdb unique.

Yeah it's disappointing that we won't be able to discuss actors and movies anymore.I really enjoyed it too, it was very interesting to see peoples thoughts.But the good thing is we won't have to deal with idiotic,waste of time trolls anymore.I can understand why imdb are disabling the message boards,because the boards have just become overwhelmed by trolls unfortunately.

I was quite shocked when I read that the boards were closing down. I've been posting silliness on these boards for 11 years. Seriously though, trolls are quite easy to ignore. And there are security measures they could implement to keep trolls away. This all seems suspicious and just plain stupid on IMDb's part.

What if I watch a movie and immediately need to know what other people thought of a certain part or a certain person. Like, back in the day, when I needed to know who else watched 'Thor' and totally loved Loki and thought everything that happened to him was so unjust?!! lol.

I agree that's it's shocking that they're getting rid of the boards.IMDB could do more to eliminate trolls,instead of closing down the boards altogether. I too go to the boards after I see a movie I really like or a celebrity that's quite obscure and not seen a lot. I'm really going to miss it.I really enjoy reading the insightful comments that are left on the boards and the fun that people have.

This is too bad. There aren't many user friendly actor-oriented boards out there. It's a good place for someone verbose to write posts longer than 140 characters unlike twitter. It has readable/clear texts unlike facebook, and it has organized threads unlike everything else. It is going to be a sad day when this board closes. 😞

Maybe someone here can create a private Tom Hiddleston Members only FB page? Just a thought. I heard the news today in a production office surrounded by men. They pretty much all said, "who has time for writing on those things anyway?" I guess some people just don't understand the connection we can all have and interesting dialogue - it's been fun and what a fantastic group of fans Mr. Hiddleston has -- even if we don't always agree - I've always enjoyed reading other people's opinions

They are definitely using the trolls as an excuse instead of saying that they have to cut jobs.

Oh we did eh? I think Beaky told me hers is 11 years old too. I've been on here since I was 19 😢 It's such a vital movie discussion experience and now it'll be gone. I've been on this board for 5 years and made some good friends.
