Disgraced?

The UK Media? I'd say so.

reply

For being a Ginger? I'd say so.

The vast majority of the UK population hate his guts, and we hate that fucking hanger on of his even more.

Fuck him, her, and the horses they rode in on, and you're fucking welcome to the pair of pricks America.

reply

The UK population are also a bunch of short-sighted dolts who voted for Brexit.

reply

So certain parts of the remoaning leftist media would have the world think so.

reply

Excuse me, I voted Remain. Brexit is the biggest mistake we Brits ever made, and it's all thanks to the Tory Cuntservatives!

reply

How does the UK feel about William and Kate?

reply

No, Andrew is the one who's disgraced!

Harry's just revealed himself to be a complete twat, and if he wants to go and be a twat away from the royal family it's best for all concerned.

reply

Yes, and it's a shame too. Because when he was younger in his crazy partying days, he was very much disliked. Especially after the Halloween party Nazi costume. But he was young and immature at the time. But as he grew into an adult he commanded a lot of respect because he did mature quite a lot and did some very respectable things. And then unfortunately he hooked up with that thing and all that hard-earned respect flew out the window.

Meghan is not a thing, but a human being. It is too bad the royal family hurt and let her down. If they had been friendlier, and defended her, maybe the narrative would have turned out better. Not that either side would be lollipoos and sunshine, maybe they would have still been dissatisfied, but would have found resolutions. But then again, the Queen never came to the defense of any family member in the public sector, even during the Charles and Di days. Strange rules the monarchy has.

The funny thing is, I would not be surprised if Fergie and Andy decide to give a no bars held interview over the way she was treated decades ago. She has been restrained, but since Phillip and the Queen are dead now, who knows.

"If they had been friendlier, and defended her, maybe the narrative would have turned out better."

You don't understand how royalty works, do you! FYI they don't change their ways to suit some new in-law, they expect the new in-law to learn the ropes and get with the program, because the new in-law is the one who wanted to be part of the program after all. They do NOT change the program after a thousand years of success, because it doesn't suit some Californian.

No, Harry and Meg left the royal family because Harry had had it with his family of origin and royal responsibilities, not because they hurt Meggie's widdle feewings, but H&M think that blaming the royals for being meeean is a better story. The royals of course, never complain and never explain, and have successfully let H&M turn into an ongoing trainwreck while they sail on, proving that they had it right all along, and that Meg missed her chance to learn how it's done.

reply

Whoa Whoa, easy, I know that. I did not expect the royals to change the rules, but it does seem they might have been indifferent to how cruel the press was. But it's all speculation. Harry has been unhappy about being a prince long before meeting Meghan. Personally, considering her liberal, free spirited nature, I can understand how she felt it restricting, but also know she should have realized that. I wish both sides peace.

reply

Re the press "cruelty", remember I said "Never complain, never explain"? That was the late queen's way of dealing with the press, and it does work over the long term. Since Prince William got married 10 years ago, I've seen his wife go from being widely mocked to untouchable, and Markle could have done the same if she'd had the patience.

But she didn't, she wanted to complain and fight and sue over every little thing, and look how it's worked for her. Markle is widely mocked and despised, and the Princess of Wales is popular and seems immune from press criticism. Meg could have learned to to handle things that well, but she thought she knew best...

reply

I agree with you to some extent, but the royal family has tough endurance. But I am assuming Meghan is very sensitive, not a good trait for that world. Who knows how she was treated by her former boyfriend and ex husband's families. Despite hearing their moms considered her like a second daughter, who knows if that was true. Plus her own paternal family members were critical in the press as well. Although their words could have been twisted by the press. I agree the Sussex's acted hastily, but the clock does not go back. To coin their addage, they made their bed.

reply

If they've made a trainwreck of their bed, that doesn't mean that they didn't have every right to make the attempt!

As for Meg, I really think that Harry is responsible for a lot of the things that Meg gets blamed for, like leaving royal life. So either she and Harry intended to leave all along, or she just plain failed to understand what she needed to do to fit into the royal family, and make a success of being a princess. Or both.
