good guitarist on snl

back in the 90s.

good or just good to watch?

I'm not knocking his skills but I remember seeing G.E. on SNL doing his little intro and outro segments between commercial breaks and they just seemed 'adequate' but not mindblowing. All guitarist get crusty as they get older but he was younger back then but I always thought he played like an old tired out rocker like Chuck Berry sounded in the 90s vs the 50s to 70s when he was still vibrant.

good to watch. he was just another character on 90s snl, just thought i'd give him a shout out.

Dave Letterman's guitarist Sid McGinnis played some mean licks and always blended in well with guest bands when they needed backup.

Now that I think about SNL's music I always remember the saxophone more than anything especially with the intro song

Hall and Oates werent known for face melting guitar solos but he did the job.

I associate funky bass lines and vocals with H&O more than rock guitar licks. I know E.G. played for them too.

He gives cool interviews.
