Had to be Anne Hathaway's role. There is no way she could have pulled off Meryl Streep's role.

I know someone else was offered Emily Blunt's role before she was cast but didn't know who. Thought it might have been her.

Apparently McAdams turned it down three times! I wonder if they had not yet cast Meryl Streep at the time, because I would think any young actress would jump at the chance to work with her.

Rachel McAdams for the role of Andy Sachs? No way, that wouldn*t have worked at all!
She is too confident to play a unsecure and shy woman.

It’s called acting for a reason.

Of course she would have been fine in the role, perhaps even great.
