Pi tattoo?
Is his Pi tattoo in the Wire real or just for the show? Why would his character have that? Anybody know what it means?

shareAnybody?
shareI don't remember seeing him with a 'Pi' tattoo on the Wire. . .where was it located?
The only tattoo I know he has for sure is his initials 'PS' on the left side of his chest, although I don't know what year he had it done. All the times I've seen him shirtless on screen, his chest tattoo had been edited/air-brushed out.
Found a link to it but it doesn't say whether it's real or not

I've always been curious about it as a huge Wire fan.
Whomever wrote that article is extremely superficial. All of that space wasted complaining about a possible fake tattoo on a fictional show?
Really, out of all of the potentially noteworthy things to point out. . .a tattoo on the back of someone's neck? I haven't seen all of season 2 for The Wire, but unless the pi tattoo was the point of focus for more than 60 seconds, I don't see that the big deal is. . .
Anyway, it still doesn't answer your initial question, but if you'd like I'd be glad to pose the question to Pablo for him to answer it himself! He might not respond, but it's worth a shot.
Yeah if you know him sure. The Wire is my favorite show, I live in Baltimore and watch the whole series at least once a year. That random blogger I found on google was kind of a d, but it is something that I've wondered about. It's just an odd tattoo for a character like him to have on the show.
I'm curious whether they gave it to him on purpose, or purposely decided not to cover his preexisting tat. The Wire has so many little well thought out touches and I'm really curious why the main character in that season would have such a tat. That blog was the only thing I could find about
Pablo has a Twitter account and every couple of days he'll do a "drive-by tweet session" and answer a bunch of random questions/comments that his followers have tagged him in. Actually until earlier this week, Pablo was actually following ME on twitter!
He doesn't really have a "system" for answering questions on Twitter, he pretty much answers whenever and whomever he feels like at that moment, but like I said, it's worth a shot!
Confirmed: Pablo's Pi tattoo as Nick Sobotka on The Wire was a fake.
shareHow'd you confirm it? If so, did it say why they picked that tattoo for the show? Seems weird to me still every time I see it.
