shareseriously. I saw her in year one on tv today and wondered if she ever got naked in anything. To my surprise, yes, in everything.
shareShe doesn't get naked anymore than most European actresses or than most actresses in the 70's and 80's did. It's just that people compare her to young America actresses who insist on playing "strippers" who don't actually strip or do sex scenes with their bras and panties on.
This stupidity about not doing nudity if you want to "be respected as an actress" started almost 20 years ago I think when "Showgirls" supposedly "ruined" the career of an actress who had previously only appeared on TV's "Saved by the Bell". But I think if an unknown actress today starred in an infamous Hollywood bomb but did NOT get naked, it would ruin her career just as much. On the other hand, if an actress is talented and appears in good movies, no one cares if her wardrobe consists largely of her birthday suit. So kudos to Juno Temple for disproving this *beep*
its the only thing shes good at really
Let face it, people hate art movies. Especially when they are not expecting an art movie
Back under the bridge with ya jay.
shareShe's the same age as me and speaking as a guy, I know that if I was an actor I would be comfortable with doing nudity in a movie (yes, even full frontal) and I've always been pretty comfortable with nudity in general, so maybe it's a generational thing? maybe people around my age don't see nudity as any big deal and certainly not as anything "shameful".
shareI just find it funny, that every bitches about Lena Dunham being naked all the time, but no one has a problem with Juno temple does it.
I don;t watch girls, I just the complaints.
I don't have a problem with either girl (especially Juno) being naked.
I just found it to be a funny observation.
Lena Dunham is another example of a young actress comfortable with nudity, I think it's a generational thing and has to do with attitudes about nudity in general, not just for actors and actresses, within ten years or so I wouldn't be surprised if every beach in America allows female toplessness just like most (if not all) beaches in Europe do.
