parents can't spell
lets name our kid lindsay, but attempt to make it trendy and unique by replacing the vowels with 'y's so it looks like something out of the lord of the rings

shareThat's so funny because I have a friend namd Lyndsy and I've always thought the same thing about the way her name is spelled.

It sounds the same but written differently, those 3 names above are an example which sometimes people get confused.
Wouldn't blame them, but they could've named her Sofia, Monica, Rita or etc.
I heard her parents are allergic to first-name vowels. She has a brother named Styvyn, and a sister named Jynnyfyr.
"You're close, but the sky's closer."
i'm not american but all i watch is american tv and movies and the only time i've ever seen socks be spelled as "sox" is in reference to the baseball team. though i'm sure americans who live in the south might think its the proper way.
:P
oh and regarding parents spelling names weirdly, my cousin has two daughters named Monica and Selina but she spelled them Monika and Selyna and she has a son she named Antonyo. so yeah she went "Y" crazy as well. lol
I know, right? That's just like my friend Yyyyyyy (pronounced 'Frank').
