Seems to me Asian audiences like their idols

really young. I think Ziyi was more popular in Asia when she was in her teens and early twenties. Now that she's in her thirties, she an embarrassment to Asians in Asian films. This is another reason for her to go west. Over here we have teens that score really big, but mature women are appreciated more.

Not that I think Ziyi is a Chinese cougar. She still looks pretty fresh. I think she gets plenty of sleep and lays off the drugs, alcohol, and fast-food. She's still really in shape compared to our plump actresses from Hollywood. Ziyi is slim but most girls over here would kill ten people to have Ziyi's booty.

Ziyi would have to pay attention if she came to Hollywood, but she could be huge. I would fire her manager, who apparently can't count, and hire me. I'd have her in musicals, comedies, and action-adventure films. She could be paired with Toby McGuire in a detective series and be a smash. Those Chinese dramas are too serious for her.

She should be a fixture on every red-carpet over here. Boo-hoo, what a shame.

I agree with you.But you konw,working in Hollywood as a chinese is sososososososo hard.So,her career must base on her own land.
Everyone wants she can come back to Hollywood:)

Right.Actually,Where there are Ziyi,there will be a most heated topic in China.
But half of them which are ridiculous really harm her reputation.
Fortunately,China's gorvernment and the powerful media appreciate and support her.

USA is the headquarters of that kind of individual. Ziyi is like Madonna, Taylor Swift, and all those other media sensations who are popular and interesting on a universal level. I think her management is keeping her in Asia because they are more comfortable marketing her there. Like catching fish from a barrel.

You put her in a film with a good story and directed by a world-class film director and you will see fireworks. Matching her up with Ang Lee is the perfect example. Everything has to be first rate.

Asian media, Asian film, Asian fashion and popular culture is too small a stage for her, I think. She needs to be on the big stage.

Maybe she wants more control of everything. That's a trend in Hollywood, and we are starting to see Ziyi more in control of her projects, but really, she needs be in the world market.

You can't compare her to Jack Chan, Jet Li, or any other actor working today. She has more up-side than most of them.

I think she has bad management now.

I like HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS,HERO,CTHD,MOAG,2046,and these films make her become the world's famous actress.But ZZ needs that chance,.And of course,she should work more harder.her next film "The Grand Master",which I expect very much.

Her management is so bad indeed.

I don't think it's a good move for her to work too much for HW. They cant make the best out a a good actress.
Look at Penelope Cruz, her best movies are still made out of Hollywood. Same for all the past European actresses.
Look at Michelle Yeoh, after James Bond, she could not get any better roles and both she and Gong LI have to play minor roles in HW.
Zhang don't need Hollywood as much as her earlier days.
Her performance in Geisha is enough.
Furthermore, you will never be too old for Western movies, so no hurry for her
