Downward trajectory

Yikes, what happened? Looks like her U.S. market dried up. Relegated to kung fu oblivion.

reply

I think being past her prime and having sh!tty acting skills had something to do with it.

reply

She never had much of a career in the US in any case.

Her only significant role in a U.S film was Memoirs of a Geisha. She followed that up with a role in The Horsemen which ended up going direct to dvd. So, it's not like her roles in U.S films dried up, they were never really there to begin with. She can only play a particular role in English films (a foreigner with an accent) so that limits what casting directors are willing to cast her in. She probably gets offered much better roles in Chinese films in any case!

reply

Seems like she's very rich and doing fine financially.

can't outrun your own shadow

Why are people so ignorant here ?

She never need a U.S. film as much as a U.S. films need her. They count not find a better actress to do Geisha and offered her a good payroll, so she took it.
She was so big in Asia; and she is even bigger now. Why should she go to US when she is no. 1 in Asia ?

reply

Meh i dont care she can live w me and use my car/visa/shower n peeeni$ all she wants!

reply
