Last of the Best?

The only other person who can fight as well as he does and is younger is Wu Jing, but sadly, lets face it, he will never be a star; he lacks the looks and the acting talent. Yen can at least do Keanu type roles.

Lots of young actors out there are trying out to be the next action superstar, but the goddamn truth is that they can't fight to save their lives *cough* Nicholas Tse *cough*. I just saw a fight between Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung in a tv movie made last year, and *beep* they've still got it. Really shows you it takes years of training to do what they do, and they're still capable of it after so long.

Donnie is truly the last of his breed...too bad he's already in his forties

I just hope that more stars follow Donnie's lead and focus on making good unique movies with their own style. I love Jackie Chan and Jet Li, but I wish they had ignored Hollywood and just focused on making great films.

There are also some good Frech action stars like Cyril Raffaelli but he is more of a cordinator now. Still Banuelle-13 ultimatum has some impressive action.

Donnie Yen is amazing, he was good earlier in his career but I think that he is the leading action star in the world right now. His movies are both great movies and great action movies. Neither Jet Li or Jackie Chan are like him.

Last of the Best, im not sure. But I do think he marks the ending of a certain type of action star. Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Donnie Yen all came from rough backgrounds and grew up training and working extremely hard. I don't think that we will sey many stars like them in the future. I hope that movies like SPL will continue to be made and movies like invisible target dont take over the market.
