Is Donnie Yen a smoker?

Everyone in china smokes.. They have probably not heard of the health effects yet ;=)

For a comparison, I've been training wushu a couple of weeks with Zhu Hong (Former trainer of the beijing wushu team), He's smoking like 10 cigarettes a day, and those are not the regular cigarettes we got, they are like ten times as strong. He's a top athlete, how strange that must sound...so i guess they don't know, or do not want to know the health effect ;=)

I was watching the making of SPL and he was smoking a fat Cigar in that as well.

It's not common to smoke cigars as often as cigarettes. Many cig smokers can easily go through a pack a day, whereas many cigar smokers end up only smoking one a day.
I don't know for sure, maybe someone can clarify on this, but I'm pretty sure cigars aren't as loaded with as many chemicals and poisons as cigaretters are. Either way, they're more of a luxury thing..not saying it makes the habit better for him, but the fact that he most likely doesn't chain smoke is something.

Another thing to consider is that no offense to anyone on this thread, but he's most likely in better shape and has better lung capacity than anyone who's posted, including myself. He obviously has a lot of energy and isn't stricken with the black lung or anything.

You don't inhale cigars so therefore they will hardly affect your lungs at all. Yeah in killzone you see him with a cigar but this is only when they're celebrating whilst cracking open the champers. I don't care how fit you are ciggerettes will hinder your performance. When I first took up Taekwondo I smoked for the first year or so of training I've recently given up and have noticed a huge amount of difference in my fitness. Jacky wu in killzone is a smoker and he was constantly sweating/ out of breath when filming his fight scene with donnie, whilst donnie even though a lot older remained pretty composed.

Probably because you keep it in the mouth longer because don't inhale?!!
