Where would he rank on your list of favourite directors?
Although he wouldn't make my current top 10, I would rank him in the top 15 of favourite directors. What about you?
shareI haven't seen some of his more acclaimed work such as The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), Ben-Hur (1959) or The Big Country (1959). Though they're on my watchlist.
What I have seen;
- Roman Holiday (1953)
- The Children's Hour (1961)
- How to Steal a Million (1966)
I enjoyed all three, checked them out when working through Audrey Hepburn's filmography. Roman Holiday is fantastic and one of my favourite films, a 10/10. The Children's Hour is brilliant a 9/10. How to Steal a Million was alright a 6.5/10.
I feel I've seen too few films of his to rank him properly. Though he was clearly a talented director.
