Why so Many Big Roles?

is it the way he looks or something? Its definitely not his acting ability.

hes the exact same character in every movie. Just sometimes hes made of metal, sometimes his legs dont work, but every time hes the same boring character.

If you check out his Australian films, as well as The Debt and TKF, you will find he is more than a one note actor. He is actually quite good.
However, he has played the same role over and over...the angry, brooding, reluctant hero. Theses movies make money, so why wouldn't they keep recasting him? It's called type casting. I would like to see him do more diverse movies, like Drift, and the Debt- Even if the roles are smaller.

Once you get one big movie and thumbs up from one established director like James Cameron then you get on all the studios list. Just like that awful Shia Labeouf. Hollywood needs to go for more unknowns instead of casting the same pieces of crap.

I'll add Cake and Paper Planes to the list. It's nice to see Sam play a father, especially now that he is one himself. He plays a widower in both films and I thought he played melancholy quite well.
