He was from Ashland, Kentucky (USA), which isn't far from my hometown (The Judds and Ricky Skaggs were from Ashland also... several big country/bluegrass music stars were from that part of the country). I always liked him... I'm old enough to remember when he hosted "Wheel Of Fortune" and "The Love Connection" was big when I was in college. He also hosted a TV version of the game "Scrabble" that I remember watching. He was also married/divorced to an actress named Jo Ann Pflug back in the day. Sorry to see that he passed...RIP.
shareI liked him. Amongst other things, I remember him as the original host of Wheel of Fortune. He was great in that role, in fact it took me many years to finally consider Pat Sajak Mr. Wheel of Fortune.
