Do you think she could pull it off?

I wouldn't mind her at all and wouldn't of even thought of her in a super hero role if i didn't come across this pic.

Based on her background in martial arts, she's better suited as Black Canary in the DCCU.

BC is not in any DCCU movie for the forseeable future...while Ms Marvel/ Captain Marvel has a movie coming and is yet to be cast....Katheryn has also shown interest in playing the ms marvel role in many interviews not BC. I think she would do great in MCU which is already well established unlike DCCU....

I think she would be great, but a studio would never trust a $100+ million film to her.

reply

If they can trust someone like Tom holland then im sure they can be reassured with her..

Spiderman is an iconic character that is already very familiar to film audiences due to multiple hugely successful films. A different situation than Captain Marvel. They will give the movie to either a star or someone with buzz.

reply

Comic characters are usually cast as someone who is not a well established star already, and often it's the times that they choose an actor who is already a big star that things go wrong. The more successful ones tend to follow the formula set by Richard Donner with the first Superman of a relative unknown in the lead but a recognizable and distinguished overall cast.

reply

Yes, but they are still cast with actors with some kind of buzz in Hollywood. Katheryn is great, but she doesn't have the profile in Hollywood to book a role like this (same goes for someone like Katee Sackoff or Yvonne Strahovski).

An actress needs to have some kind of momentum in Hollywood to book a role like this, not be an actress in her late 30s best known for being on a show on the History channel.
