Smart, gorgeous, but a bad actress.

She seems to express disgust when she's supposed to be sad.
She expresses contemplating when she is supposed to be confused.
She expresses rage when she is only mildly overwhelmed.
She expresses joy when she is only supposed to be enlightened.

She can't seem to express a feeling genuinely but she does look like a hotter version of Jolie, and she has a decent resume for her career. In walking dead she feels like shes from a soap opera and almost killed some really important drama scenes. I'm not trying to hate on her but she has got the wrong idea of certain expressions and presents a mildly arbitrary character presence that gets over her problems way to easily and care free almost. The reason I think people didn't like Lori is because she didn't get the emotions she was supposed to express just right. It just didn't feel real or important she just seemed frustrated all the time the way soap operas tend to do or the way Kristen Stewart does in her twilight movies. For example: The argument with rick and Lori was just weak from her point of view I'd imagine her showing some signs of regret about the pills but she seemed apathetic and was like "what? I spit them out what do you want from me?" It's like she didn't comprehend the fact that she is pregnant, she held information from her own husband, she literally just nearly killed two kids (baby/glenn)" She just played her character unrealistically; she didn't "become" her character she just read the script word for word.

I agree, she's a terrible actress.

You are so right, OP! Your post expresses everything I thought about this actress on TWD. Rotten actress. While I agreed with some others that Lori was an intrinsically irritating character, I don't believe she was meant to be just completely hateful the way she was when portrayed by this actress. This is an ACTRESS who has trouble expressing emotion while acting. I mean, really? Or, maybe she really is a mean bitch and was just playing herself. I was very irritated by her lack of emotional range on TWD. Whatever her emotion was supposed to be, she expressed it by looking sideways, then turning away. She looked mad all the time, no matter what she was supposed to be feeling. Even when she was smiling, it looked as if she was going to whip out a knife and slash somebody any minute.

I disagree that she's gorgeous. I think she's unattractive

But I agree that her acting is terrible. Her eyes are really weird and she looks like a deer in the headlights sometimes. This may have something to do with her expressions idk. But she comes across as very condescending and therefore annoying.

I think her character is supposed to be likeable. She seems to have been made into a matriarch character and the one everyone is supposed to go to with their problems (aside from Rick). She got a lot of screen time while the other women didn't get as much while she was there. So there's no way the writers had any idea that the viewers would hate her.

Absolutely--she was horrible on TWD, and I was extremely happy to see her go, as I know most people were.

She's not great but I wouldn't call her BAD.

Exactly my sentiment. I find her good looking.

But she is extremely annoying in the roles she plays. I'm trying to figure out if she is typecast this way, or if she just can't help herself.

She almost ruined Prison Break for me (although that show was ruined by season 3 anyway), but I was actually hugely enthused that she was killed off in The Walking Dead.

I am now actually actively avoiding anything she is in. Please offer her a job off screen somewhere. Preferably as a catering assistant, in the B-movie market, in Canada, only on Sundays, with a gag in her mouth and a bag over her head.

Hey, I'll be a part of this world.
