You're my third least favorite child.

i actually have a semantics question about that statement. lucille says that to micheal, suggesting that he is her favorite child after buster of course. fourth LEAST favorite child shoud actually mean the "favorite" child of the four, right? that seems right since saying "third least favorite child" suggests that lucille's order of preference of her children goes buster, micheal, then probably lindsay and gob. in the next scene, the narrator says micheal went to visit lucille's "4th least favorite child" who turns out to be gob. by my reasoning this would mean that gob is actually her favorite of her four children. this doesnt seems right to me (inconsistent with the show's character development) and if fourth favorite child does somehow mean least favorite, then that would suggest that lucille prefers lindsay over micheal? i hope thats not too hard to follow, it has just been bothering me because it doesnt seem to make sense.

no it would mean her least favorite child. telling michael he's her third least favorite means she ranks him third and gob fourth. the first and second would be buster then lindsay. the numbers i think are what's confusing but least favorite means who she dislikes the most and then a rank. who she likes best would be considered her first least favorite. there all least favorites, but some rank higher than others. gotta love lucille. sends your brain in circles haha but i hope i helped i had to work it out too the first time i heard it.

No, jepete02's right. Her fourth least favourite is actually her favourite. Her least favourite is her least favourite. We all know Buster is her favourite and we know from several references that she 'doesn't care much for Gob," so presumably he is her least favourite.

yep, thats why Michael was like "I'm Okay with that" they just messed it up when they said GOB was the fourth least favorite

I has that problem also... Even though i've watched that episode over 5 times. I'd think Buster would be first, Michael second, Lindsay third and GOB last.

It's been bothering me for a while as well. I'm glad somebody else noticed that.

Honestly I think it's kind of a joke to say that they are ALL her least favorite children. Because if you try to sit and puzzle it out, it doesn't make sense... it just keeps coming round again to state that they are all her least favorite. I think this is probably on purpose considering the sharp writing on this show.
