It's surprising in retrospect that he "survived" in the movies as long as he did, considering his conspicuous lack of charisma or any real acting talent. All he had was hunky good looks and a bit of offhand charm, Whenever even a modicum of dramatic energy was needed, he failed. He had no gravity on screen, his acting was strictly on "daily soap" level, maybe even worse. He was just a pretty poster boy.

shareDon't speak ill of the dead. No really, I think he is exempt from criticism. Heath Ledger, PSH, all of them. They are exempt from criticism because it is such a travesty that they died young, we should just be thankful we're alive and have the luxury of being able to watch their work. Just my opinion.

To be fair, I don't think anyone watches the F&F series for the acting performance, given the corny dialogue the cast has to work with. (Vin Diesel in particular is quite painful thanks to his "nothing is more important than family" moto, he should take notes from the Rock who is actually quite badass in these films)
shareI have to disagree. I think he had nothing but charisma about him. That's why he made it, even though he'd be considered B Class. He just had it.
Of course you're entitled to disagree though.
IMO he was a pretty good actor,sure he was no Ethan Hawke,but he was good in the Fast movies and Into the Blue. I thought he did a great job in Running Scared,Hours and Pawn Shop Chronicles. Before he died he was suppose to be in that movie the Best of Me,that would have been nice to see try something outside his comfort zone, maybe he would have won more people over,sadly we will never know
